When I read Chiara's post on the writing alphabet , I thought it wouldn't be easy to reply with an article of mine. Then it was Ivano's turn with his own alphabet , but my post was already planned, at least as an idea. I thus created an initial list of 26 letters, but then, as a good nationalist, I removed the 5 which have little to do with our alphabet, even if the dictionary has reported them for years. But it seemed forced to leave them. It helped me a lot to consult the various online dictionaries and wordsmiths, in search of the words that most distinguish my writing, which suit my personality and my way of seeing the art of writing. toAutobiography I don't write anything autobiographical, I haven't experienced anything that can be told in a book. However, as I explained when I said that you write to tell about yourself , in each of my writings there is a piece of me , something that connects me to the character, the story, the theme or the setting. I could never write about topics that are totally foreign to me.
The passion would be missing, but also the desire to write, the interest in that topic and therefore in the story itself and the characters that populate it. bCommon sense What stopped me from doing wild self-publishing and sending my first “novel in diary form” to a publisher and from proposing my anthology of 365 stories of 300 words each, some of which Special Data appeared here. When writing, common sense must not be lacking. Common sense means the ability to criticize oneself , which does not mean lacking self-esteem, but understanding and accepting one's own shortcomings and limits. The only times I pitched a book to a publisher were works I considered publishable – neither of those were fiction. I talked about how the first proposal went some time ago, I will talk about how the second one went shortly. cCuriosity I am a curious person, very curious. I ask questions all the time, even to myself. Writing for me is satisfying my insatiable curiosity . Is a new planet discovered? Maybe I'll find out and I'll think of writing a story about it.
A writer must be curious, because his curiosity leads him to have ideas for writing. To delve deeper into a topic that is dear to him, to travel to places and times where he will never be able to go. dDetermination To publish a book you need to be determined. Luckily, despite all the low self-esteem and excessive self-criticism I find myself in, the determination to continue writing and hoping to publish books – not one, but many – has not yet been lacking. Maybe because I am a dreamer and dreamers don't give up, they live in a world apart, where there is still room for hope. AndExploration Writing is exploring . Salgari also said it: "writing is traveling without the hassle of luggage". Salgari explored the entire planet and beyond simply by writing stories. Since I was a child I have had the soul of an explorer : I couldn't wait for Sunday to arrive for trips to the countryside, to explore woods or ruins like a madman. Which he continues to do today. fFantastic It's my favorite literary genre . I don't say fantasy, because
